Legends Announce Expanded Partnership with DisposeRx

FRISCO, TX, (Oct. 25, 2023) – The Texas Legends have announced the renewal and expansion of their partnership with DisposeRx, the opioid disposal company working to fight the rampant overdose and abuse of prescription drugs.

DisposeRx is a North Carolina-based company dedicated to decreasing the misuse of leftover prescription medications through their patented medication disposal packets and education programming.

The two organizations first joined forces last season with a custom charity jersey night used to inform Legends fans on the dangerous statistics of the epidemic.  The night was a success, generating more than 500,000 social and web impressions for the campaign and leading to a broader, season-long partnership.

“This partnership is bigger than both of our organizations,” said Legends President Malcolm Farmer.  “It’s about spreading awareness, educating fans on the very serious issue our country is facing, and providing them with the tools and resources to be a part of the solution.  We’re incredibly proud to join alongside our friends at DisposeRx in their mission.”

The Legends’ Official Drug Safety Sponsor will have their logo on the team’s away jerseys worn in G League markets across the US, Canada, and Mexico.  DisposeRx is the presenting sponsor of the new Safety Legends Program featuring a prescription safety pledge on the Legends’ website, social media, email blasts, and at all home games.

Another newly created element for the partnership is trading card packs the Legends are producing with a DisposeRx “Playbook for Drug Safety” included in each pack.  The company will have branding and safety messaging at all games and will once again sponsor the opioid abuse prevention jersey night.

“We were thrilled with our partnership last season and the amount of buzz it has helped us raise in the North Dallas area,” said DisposeRx President and CEO William Simpson. “We’ve gotten to work with the Legends team to create new inventory to come at this fight from all angles, and we’re looking forward to implementing it all this season.”

DisposeRx is currently hosting “Coaches vs Overdoses” in partnership with McKinney ISD and is kicking off the media campaign for this partnership this Thursday, Oct. 26th at the McKinney ISD Stadium, Community Events Center.

The two will once again host a Fight Opioid Abuse night at the game on Feb. 27th.  For more information on DisposeRx, their mission, or their upcoming events visit www.disposerx.com.  For the Legends full schedule and more information on the team, call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com
